U.S. Fulbright scholars presentations at Csányi Foundation
The Csányi Foundation, founded by Dr. Sándor Csányi, Chairman and CEO, OTP Bank plc supports gifted, socially disadvantaged children through each milestone of their lives, assisting them to overcome socio-economic obstacles and to develop their innate talents. One of the keystone of the Foundation’s Lifelong Advantage Program is language acquisition.
On November 5, 2012 Christopher Berchild (’12 University of Pécs) visited the Pécs Community Center in order to meet Csányi students aged 12-16 years participating in the Foundation’s Talent Development Program.
On 10 November, 2012 David Frey (’12 Institute of History, Hungarian Academy of Sciences) and Annamária Sas, Fulbright American Program Officer traveled to Jászberény to speak with over 20 upper level Csányi students about the history and traditional celebrations of Halloween and Thanksgiving in North America. Ms. Sas (’89 Language Development Magnet School, TX) a Fulbright alumna herself baked a very traditional Thanksgiving food, a pumpkin pie for this occasion.
