Ministry of Human ResourcesZoltán Balog, Minister of Human Resources and Honorary Co-Chair of the Fulbright Board in Hungary greeted the newly appointed university professors, among them four Fulbright alumni: Zoltán Balázs (’93 Columbia University), Piroska Csörgő (’08 University of Denver), András Bauer (’98 University of California, Berkeley) and András Kepes (’85 Stanford University).

Iron Curtain Memorial – Paneuropean PicnicU.S. Fulbright grantees from Austria and Hungary met at the site of the so-called Paneuropean Pinic on the Austro-Hungarian border on October 12, 2012. Prof. László Vass (’95 American University), Rector of the Budapest College of Communications, Business and Arts and former president of the Hungarian Fulbright Alumni Association was the highest ranking Hungarian government official at the Paneuropean Pinic on August 19, 1989. At this occasion, he shared his personal memories of that noteworthy event.
The group also visited the city of Sopron, the Esterházy-Palace in Fertőd and the Benedictine Monastery in Pannonhalma.
